This Sunday in Worship: This Sunday please join us on Facebook, or You Tube at 11:00am as Pastor Mark continues his sermon series on Healthy Living. This week’s focus is “Healthy Living: Vocationally”. The scripture for this week is Colossians 3:15-17, 22-25.
TITHE & OFFERINGS: ONLINE OPPORTUNITY
THANK YOU everybody for your continued prayers and financial support, especially over the past several months. Remember, we give because God first gave to us. You can give by dropping off your offering at the church or by mailing it in. You can also coordinate with your financial institution a weekly or monthly draft and have it mailed directly to the church, or you can give through a trusted online resource provided through our conference at the following link: https://www.wnccumc.org/online-donations-to-churches. Thank You again for your faithfulness and generosity as we strive to follow Jesus, make disciples, for the transformation of the world.
Girl Scout Cookies
Due to Covid 19, the Girl Scout cookie booths this year are limited. Our Girl Scouts will be hosting a drive-by Cookie Booth at the church on Saturdays beginning January 16 through February 27 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. People can come though the parking lot to the front door entry of the church and purchase cookies. All scouts and leaders will wear masks and gloves. Patrons can tell us which cookie(s) and the quantity from their car, and we will exchange money for cookies through the car window. Our Scouts will also have cookie booths at The General Store and Terrell Camping Center. If you have any questions, you may contact Elizabeth McCarville at 704-658-7587 (cell) or 828-478-8156 (home).
Beginning Monday, February 1st, registration will be available for current preschool families and church members. Registration will open to the public on Monday, March 1st. The classes will fill up fast, so don’t hesitate in guaranteeing your child a spot for next year! Registration forms are available on-line, or you may pick one up at the preschool or church office. Registration forms may be turned in any time after January 31st. If you have questions or concerns about next year’s registration, please contact Amy Howard at 704-483-3087 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
This year, our Ash Wednesday Service will be posted online via FaceBook and YouTube by 6:00am on Wednesday, February 17th. All are encouraged to participate in the worship service anytime that day that is convenient with your schedule. Ashes can be picked up at the church ahead of time if you’d like. Also, Pastor Mark will be doing a drive-in imposition of ashes from 11am – 1pm out front of the church too. Please stay in your cars. Safety measures will be in effect. We hope all of you will kick off the Lenten Season with this special Ash Wednesday service.
Join Pastor Mark this Lenten season as he invites us to engage in a closer, more personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He will be leading a study on ancient spiritual disciplines and providing applicable resources for nurturing those practices using the Bible and a book entitled: Soul Feast by Marjorie Thompson. Young and old are welcome to join us via video conference on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 17th. Please RSVP to LakeNormanRev@iCloud.com for the video link and more information. Books are $16 and available at the church during regular office hours. We hope you’ll join us for this personal invitation to the Christian Spiritual Life.
