THIS SUNDAY IN WORSHIP
Please join us in worship on Sunday as Pastor Jonathan shares with us his message entitled “Receiving Mercy, Finding Grace”. The scripture lesson is Hebrews 4:12-16 using the New Living Translation (NLT).
Next Sunday, November 7th, we will celebrate homecoming. We hope you will join us as we share in a special time of worship and memories and recognize those from our church who have entered the Church Triumphant in the past year. Due to continued safety concerns with Covid, we will not have the traditional covered dish lunch.
ANNUAL CHARGE CONFERENCE
Our annual Charge Conference will be held on Sunday, November 7th at 3:00pm in the Sanctuary. All members of the church are encouraged and invited to attend, and all members of the Administrative Board are expected to attend.

THE CHRISTIAN FOOD PANTRY OF SHERRILLS FORD THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS FOOD BOXES
According to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) in NC one in 8 people in NC are food insecure, one in 6 children struggle with hunger, and eighteen % of seniors are food insecure. *
SNAP, formerly food stamps, provides temporary help for people going through hard times, providing supplemental money to buy food until they can get back on their feet. Charitable programs are unable to fully support those needs. The combination of charity and government assistance programs are necessary to help bridge the meal gap, especially during the Pandemic, when so many have lost jobs or been furloughed.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
This Thanksgiving and Christmas the churches supporting the local Christian Food Pantry of Sherrills Ford are joining forces to provide a special holiday meal to families in our local schools and to some seniors in our community. We plan to serve a minimum of a minimum of 72 families for each holiday.
A list of items needed are on the back of this page. Would you prayerfully consider supporting this effort?
The churches participating include Concord UMC, Hopewell UMC, Mt. Pleasant UMC, Olivet Baptist, Rehobeth UMC and Sherrills Ford Presbyterian.
The pantry will connect with social worker/counselors in the local schools to support their families in need. These schools include Sherrills Ford Elementary, Catawba Elementary, Balls Creek Elementary, Mills Creek Middle, Bandy’s HS and Catawba Rosenwald.
Members of the pantry board will also check with their churches for additional needs, especially seniors, and the pantry will address those, if needed.
