THIS SUNDAY IN WORSHIP
We look forward to seeing you in worship this Sunday as we are joined by and welcome David Washco. David is the Director of Discipleship at Denver UMC. His wife and daughters moved from Hickory, NC to Denver in 2017. David has been heavily involved with the Church and Men’s ministries for the past 20 years and recently was called from the Corporate world into ministry work. If he is not at home with his girls, then you will find him either at church, in the gym or training in the karate dojo. His life verse is Galatians 6:9. David’s sermon is “God is Pursuing You” and the scripture lesson is John 21:15-23. Have you ever wondered why after Jesus fulfilled the prophesies of His resurrection he didn’t simply say, “After the way you treated me on the cross, I am going back to my Father”? Why did he find it so important to stick around for another 40 days? Could the reason still be alive today?
SUNDAY SCHOOL REOPENING
As we move forward with our reopening, it is with great joy we will reopen Sunday School on Sunday, April 18. Service times will be: 8:30am – Early Service; 9:45am – Sunday School; 11:00am – Late Service.
TITHE & OFFERINGS: ONLINE OPPORTUNITY
THANK YOU everybody for your continued prayers and financial support, especially over the past several months. Remember, we give because God first gave to us. You can give by dropping off your offering at the church or by mailing it in. You can also coordinate with your financial institution a weekly or monthly draft and have it mailed directly to the church, or you can give through a trusted online resource provided through our conference at the following link: https://www.wnccumc.org/online-donations-to-churches. Thank You again for your faithfulness and generosity as we strive to follow Jesus, make disciples, for the transformation of the world.

* Proteins, especially canned meats and peanut butter
* Macaroni and Cheese
* Canned Fruit
* Spring and Summer clothing for children and teens.
*Winter needs have been graciously met, so they are not collecting winter clothing at this time.
All items may be brought to the church office during regular office hours. Any questions, please contact Jamie Prentice or the church office.
RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS FOR MOUNT PLEASANT LOCAL MISSION TEAM
There are several mission areas in our community that are in steady need of volunteers for light work for half day increments on a regular ongoing basis. Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry (ECCCM) has had Mt. Pleasant on their schedule for half days on the second Tuesday of the month for years. East Lincoln Christian Ministries is also open on Tuesdays and could use volunteers. The Mission Response Center in Terrell is always in need of volunteers to sort through donated kits and repack them for shipping. All mission institutions have jobs that can be done sitting and standing.
It is my hope to put together a list of willing volunteers who would commit to being on an email/calling list and be available on SOME Tuesdays to work a half day at some of these locations. We would only need 5-6 volunteers each Tuesday, and if we have a list of 15-20 to draw from it would not require volunteers be available but a few times each month. The opportunity to serve others and be in fellowship with one another will be a rewarding experience for anyone participating. Please contact Belinda Worsham at firstname.lastname@example.org or 704-966-2288 if interested.
